I don't think that bread is an issue in the 21st century, so circuses (propaganda and degeneracy) is dialed up to 10 to compensate. It would really help if there was a foreign adversary in a separate physical location like Britain or the North/South to cause a revolution. I don't think that the genpop of the US sees Isreal as foreign due to the compromised members of the house and Church/political propaganda.
