What you or I or MacGregor think doesn't matter. Stavka has a plan and it appears their plan is to shut up, not issue any public statements and to proceed to kill Ukrainian soldiers in defensive positions close to Russian territory using their advantage in FABs and artillery. And as plans go, it seems to be something that takes a long time but eventually hands Ukraine a defeat it can't easily recover from because Ukraine can get more jets and shells but it can't easily get mobiks.

As June '25 has shown with Iran, given picrel, that's irrelevant given that Ukraine threatened Russia with nuclear weapons. Once you do that, all bets are off and the threatened country + allies can do anything from targeted assassinations to blockades to bunker busters.

One unnoticed development is that Russia's intervention into Ukraine, given picrel, is now totally and uncomplicatedly legal and permissible.
