A large part of Trump's appeal was that he was selling certain truths framed within his pledges that other candidates weren't, and doing so with a nationalistic slant that hadn't been seen in a long time. No one with a half a brain believed all the hyperbolic stuff he spewed wholesale, but at the very least they did believe that if he could accomplish a mere portion of what he promised it could serve as a catalyst for something or someone greater. Now he is selling blatant lies with nothing to look forward to but a return to the same old games, and as a result many of his supporters are turning on him (and rightfully so). Frankly, this shit was cooked the minute that Miriam Adelson check cleared, but it doesn't make it any less pathetic to see it happen in real time.
