Reality is pretty much the opposite, you have your misconception due to judeo-"western" media highlighting the most vapid people. A typical north european doesn't actually give too much of a shit of their appearance, I'd say less than most other people do.

Not based in reality either, in fact we have one of the lowest income inequality in the world. So in other words a country where people care about being rich the least.
What you could say though is that people are less "chill" and there is genetic predisposition to preparing, as for most of history life in the high North was *very* hard and you had to plan properly and make sure that you'd have enough food in the winter so you wouldn't die. The growing season is very short, you need to make efficient use of it, you need to build shelters not just for you but for your farm animals or they'd freeze too, which again would make you starve, and so on.
Life getting easier here is a very recent phenomenon, so there is vestigial prepping mentality in our genetics for sure.
It was much much easier in the med, so obviously that'd affect them, they didn't have to worry as much about survival.
Also combine the harsh conditions with multiple brutal wars, especially here in Finland when we were most of our history part of Sweden, we were always the frontline in wars against Russia so the soldiers largely came from here and our lands were the battlegrounds for those wars.
That history has embedded itself in our national psyche to such extent that we've became basically 'prepper' - the nation, we have nuclear bunkers like pic rel in cities plus more bunkers in every apartment building by law.
We have a conscription army so we're not a country with an army, but an army with a country.
There is enough weapons to arm every citizen twice.
