You know, there was a point in Fate where I acknowledged that yeah, when you're dealing with historical figures at a certain point you have to accept some people like Rama and Sita are going to be for each other than for (you) because they have a fucking millennia-long epic about their romance.

But then the FGO writers go out of their way to write extremely stupid shit like Shuten and Ibuki being for their killer, Vritra crushing on Indra when he gets serious, and just in general being weirdly in love with the idea of a forbidden romance between two archenemies. And you realise that as silly as Sensei writing can be sometimes, if you're fucking with what is-let's be honest-a glorified casino, the least it can offer you is undivided devotion instead of making you pay for the privilege of being the third wheel in some deranged fujo's slashfic.

And then there's the genuinely baffling case of Suzuka Gozen, in which her writer is determined to cuck her away from players years after everyone stopped caring about Foxtail. Honestly I'm kind of impressed by the sheer pettiness of the man to keep hold of his waifu.
