Yeah I had been trained to understand sociopaths because they were the main type of people who our specialized projects focused on.

But honestly I didn't -truly- understand them until I had one as a tenant/squatter. What I hadn't realized was how easy it is to set them off. I emphasize my emotional response to them, then force them to realize they aren't fooling anyone, and they just become unhinged. If they can't manipulate you they have no use for you. But even worse, if you challenge them on things they know are true about themselves, they can't help but double down and expose their own personality. The highly intelligent ones can maintain a veneer of calm for an astonishing length of time, but all I have to do is bait them sideways into confusing areas they must retreat into and they will explode and show their own self.

My other hobby is letting them hack my machines so my friends can monitor them and re-sell their exploits. It's been rather fulfilling since Trump won 2024, DESU. Where as last year I would have been here having a miserable time, right now I'm loving it.
