to elaborate a bit:

- in antiquity, the average male was objectively much fitter than today. infant mortality was very high and only the strong survived, which maintained gene quality. there were ofcourse unfit males who by some hook or crook lived to adulthood but not enough to cause societal impact.

- in antiquity, there was always an arbitrage opportunity between rich unfit males and poor women, but it was very small %.

- fast forward to the industrial revolution which had three effects: infant mortality dropped to zero, the threshold for survivability dropped (much easier to survive in the world), and lastly the "middle class" created an arbitrage opportunity between rich unfit males and poor women that was massive %-age wise.

that brings us to today:

we have a huge population of men, most of whom are children of that one-time ind-rev mass-scale arbitrage, between middle-class unfit-but-rich men and poor women. these chidlren are ofcourse themselves also unfit.

but now, the arbitrage is gone. the average women today is similar to financial/material wealth to the males.

so we have:
- huge number of ugly men
- no arbitrage opportunity for said ugly men to compensate for their ugliness

this has never happened before, which is why its so weird. men complain, that women have "high standards": LMFAO. no, their standards haven't changed: its the men who are overwhelmingly ugly and unfit.

people say, "women dislike the average man" - yes, correct. that's because the "average man" is overwhelmingly the offspring of dysgenic pairings, which would have never happened if it weren't for the creation of the middle-class thanks to the ind-rev.
