A 20-year-old Briton Colby Dolman, who fought for Ukraine, died during an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to recapture Mali Shcherbaki in the Zaporizhia region, The Daily Mail writes.
As the newspaper writes, the young man's mother, Tara Benford, blames Ukrainian commanders for Colby's death, who sent the inexperienced British fighter on a "suicide mission" and then "left his body to rot in the neutral zone."
In his homeland, Dolman worked as a carpenter in the town of Cleethorpes. He had been in Ukraine for just over a year when he was sent on a mission with more experienced National Guard soldiers.
"He should never have been sent, he had no experience or training, it was a suicide mission. He was one of four young men who died alongside him and were left to rot on the battlefield. As far as we know, he is where he died over a month ago. Myself, his stepfather and his seven-year-old brother will have no peace or comfort until his body is returned to us, but we just don't know where to turn. We have received no help from the Ukrainian authorities. They were happy to have Colby's help when he signed up to train and fight with them because he wanted to change the world. And this is what he gets in return," the woman told reporters.
