Zipp's character imports virtues and flaws from Twi and RD. Some of them are copied directly, some are inverted. The result of this merging does create some characteristics AJ has, which might seem like she has AJ component in her recipe. But same results might be achieved from multiple recipes. Zipp's recipe happens to create some parts of AJ's personality. While I can agree that there is AJ in Zipp's personality - I would say the most important AJ component is missing. AJ is about family, simplicity and tradition, stability. RD and Zipp seek out excitement in their lives, not settling down on a quiet farm. AJ is stable and complete, while both RD and Zipp seek out validation for their greatness (tho RD wants to prove herself to everybody while Zipp wants to prove herself to herself). They are far more individualistic than AJ. Zipp seeks the same lifestyle as RD had, while trying not to think about the unavoidable ultimate fate of being a royal like Twi.

But there is a version of AJ that might have been considered in Zipp's design. The Rebel AJ early g5 design. I think some of that AJ might have ended up in Zipp, but in much lower dose. Then again - it might just be RD. I also doubt they would want to use AJ's blueprint for one simple reason - she's often seen as least popular and least interesting m6. Even toy sales show that. She's still amazing, but I think her component ended up in more stable and grounded characters, like Sunny and Hitch. You said "the only thing RD shares with Zipp is being a pegasus" – I would not downplay this so much. Athletic pegasus is a very common pony archetype in G4 and there are plenty of them. Early g5 concepts show us hornless Twi. Imagine Twi but without her magic. She would be a completely different character. Adding or removing wings is not just a visual change. It changes how personality can manifest, especially in athletic ponies like AJ and RD.

Both RD and AJ are stubborn and so is Zipp. Twi is sometimes stubborn. RD craves attention, AJ does not seek attention, but does not mind it if warranted (cow stampede save) and keeps humble tone. Zipp actively avoids any spotlight. Zipp is far from a copy-paste-merge job, but I think it's absolutely apparent she's Twi+RD blueprint, with AJ components in the result being accidental. But they are absolutely there.
