Russia's war against Ukraine should "perhaps" be forgiven, Slovakian Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár said.
"We consistently call for a return to compliance with international law and for seeking communication with the Russian Federation <...> because this conflict will end one day and we want to be able to communicate with them somehow," he said during O 5 minút 12 (At 5 minutes past 12) program.
Minister Blanár also said the West must find a way to cooperate with Russia and perhaps "even forgive everything that has happened."
I do agree that a return to compliance with international law is a very good idea. Russia is the one who broke it.
As for forgiveness - I think we can talk about forgiveness when there is repentance about wrongdoings. So far, Russia is very proud of its war crimes.
