Gather around foxes, I will share a story from Timmy about why our general is the superior one. We begin our tale with two brothers on the road to Kyoto. The older brother is the more knowledgeable, driven, and obsessed with finding the destination. The younger is more relaxed, curious, but is confused about where to go. The two brothers then come across a modest hut maintained by a very old man. The two brothers are extremely thirsty, so the old man welcomes them in. After explaining the purpose of their quest, the old man offers them two choices of drink. One is simply water, clean and crisp. While the other is a special nectar produced by a golden flower hidden in this forest. The older brother, in his confidence, chooses the nectar as they are certain they will reach the city within the week, and can sell it too. The younger brother almost chooses the nectar. However, he thinks his brother will share it later, so he decides not to offend the old man by choosing the water.

In the morning, the two set off back on their trip. The older brother is energized and rearing to get to Kyoto, while the younger brother is simply the same. Now, every time the brothers need to stop, the older brother is pained every time he has to drink regular water. He believes if he just had more nectar they could complete the journey by the next day! So the older brother goes into the forest to look for those golden flowers that produce the nectar. When he doesn't return, the younger brother sets out to find him. There he discovers the maddened corpse of his older brother against a golden flower. Mourning over the loss of his brother, the younger brother sees the clear waters of the river. He knows this river will take them to Kyoto, so using his dead brother's corpse as a raft, he floats down to the city.

There he tells the story of his tragedy to the locals and the princess is utterly moved by the story. The two marry and live happily ever after.
