You approach the same administrative building Ruby Rose went to. While she was able to get some work done by herself, you were glad you could now accompany her to iron out any plan that she might be entertaining in her mind.

The building itself had the standard steampunk-Victorian architecture you grew to expect, but there was some clear Neoclassical influence. While it stood as an imposing structure in its own right, with flags waving down and an almost castle-like structure in some parts, it still paled in comparison to the Merchant's Guild; a fact that Ruby decided to voice, much to the annoyance of those that worked here.

You find yourself in a line, waiting for the receptionist desk. Thankfully it didn't test your patience like the ones in your old world did, since the waiting took less than ten minutes.

"Good evening." You greeted the receptionist when you and your wives were next in line. "I'd like to know the status of a patent for some typewriters."

"Name?" Said the receptionist— a wood elf. She had dark circles under her eyes and a generally tired look on her face, suggesting that she hardly got an hour of sleep. Her attire consisted of a uniform that all the clerks wore around here, and a cute bow was tied to her hair, out of place with the rest of her look.

"John Doe." You replied.

"You're the Savant that mastermind woman with the smug smile was bragging about the other day, right?" She flipped through some papers.

"Yeah, that'd be me."

"Hmm." She sighed. "Do you have the paperwork for the patent you want?" So she knew about it already. Good, that should make this quicker.

"Yes. One of my slave-wives has a copy of it." You said, then motioned to the rest of your wives. They approached the desk, and Ruby presented the necessary papers.

It was a bit of a slog since you were all going over things you already knew. Legal terms and how patents worked basically needed an explanation every 10 minutes, mostly thanks to either Bertha or Herta constantly asking for definitions.

Ayane and Ruby Rose were the ones that did the most talking, while you had the privilege of reigning in the rest of your wives and making sure things didn't descend into chaos. Gerty and Bertha seemed to be the worst of these, with the former demanding that the clerk show more respect to you while the latter asking many mundane questions. But all in all everything seemed to be going smoothly.

At least, that's what you initially thought.

"Unfortunately," Said the elf with a neutral face, "I can't provide you with the patent necessary."

"Oh?" Ruby said with squint. "I was told that any desk would be available for directing us in the path to finish the patent."

"It does." Said the elf woman. "Technically, at least. According to the most recent circular-"

"And what do I have to do to get the paperwork finished?" You interrupted the elf woman.
