Like, remember that shitshow King Kong video game that came out... last year, I want to say? It was licensed from the novelization of King Kong, which is different from the license for King Kong as a character and different from the license for King Kong as a name.
Like, that's why the Monsterverse Kong is just called Kong, not King Kong.
