i 100% agree. i actually thought just having a well-worn book collection in my living room was cringe.. that was 5 years ago. i thought 'who would even care about this? if i saw this in someone's living room i wouldn't really care. so do i have it here just for me? are these trophies of some kind?'
thats when i donated 60% of them and boxed the rest and moved to ereader.
(now i think that whole process was itself pretentious that i would care that much to destroy my whole collection.. though im mostly happy i done away with it all evne if the reasoning was a bit silly. i just hate pretentious and contrived behavior)

saves a shit ton of money on libgen too.
