He’s not nearly as universally recognized and regarded as /pol/ thinks he is. He represents the northern slice of Kentucky and his actual electorate isn’t a particularly active one. He’s stayed in office less because he is some final hold out bastion and more nobody gives a shit about the district.
He would get about as far as if Eric Swalwell tried to run on a dem or left wing ticket. Most people wouldn’t even know who you are talking about and their home district would have a “oh that guy is running” response

Almost nobody votes in the actual primary with Massie taking the lions share of the nonexistent turnout and then he runs unopposed and republicans who didn’t give a shit in the primary vote for him.
