I'm going to resist my instinct to just straight-up accuse you of being the Sage herself and say that I agree with you over her being cute and must add that it is also incredibly endearing how hard she tries to present herself as one way or another depending on the situation. Underneath the more serious implications of her actions lies a youkai woman who, while powerful, lacks a sense of belonging and true companionship she doesn't always know she's searching for.
Her more flippant attributes despite her long-standing position of influence simply give way to a bigger target on her back for teasing. She may know what she's doing to a considerably decent degree to most but it wouldn't be Yukari if she didn't hyperfixate on how engaging with things may or may not make her look to the people she totally definitely doesn't care about, no sir.
