"Um, tell John Doe to meet up with me!" Aila said, then proceeded to stutter out the directions to her room.
"No need to." The dwarf replied. "He can hear ya already."
"Sup, Aila." You said.
"... WHA-" You hear another crash, and then the radio-crystal dims.
You, Herta, and Bertha all exchange looks.
"That'll also come outta her purse." The dwarf bellowed with a scoff. "Anyway, I can point ya to where she's stayin' at. Just up the elevator, then..."
Soon the three of you are in near Aila's room. Crashes could still be heard from behind the door. You give her door a knock.
"I'll be out in a minute!" Said the muffled voice of an elf princess. You think you hear some more shuffling around and more crashing sounds. Finally the door opens.
You are greeted with an elf in a stunningly beautiful white dress. A thin veil drapes down her face, doing nothing to hide her blush or her beaming expression. For a split second you're stunned by her natural beauty. But you quickly get recompose yourself, internally thanking the fact that beautiful women freely confessed their love for you every day. From the corner of your eye you see Herta looking at you with a frown on her face.
"John Doe." Aila looks like she'd been summoning as much of her courage as possible. That determined look on her face was adorable. "I'm not sure if this is the most romantic place to say this, or if it's even appropriate to say aloud, but I won't hold my feelings back for you any longer." She looked from side to side in the hallway. "But please come inside. There's too many ears out."
Aila invited you all in her room. Much like her dorm in the Academy, it had an orderliness to it that was lost in a sea of chaos. Though this one seemed more recent than the other, you could tell there were some silence spells that made it difficult for others to hear conversations going on in here. For the most part, at least.
"Hehe, sorry about the mess." Aila apologizes. "I was so focused on finding this dress that I didn't paying attention to what I was doing."
Aila cleared her throat, before adopting a serious expression. "While I still need to tell you... the truth." She put an anxious emphasis on that word. "But before that, I need to admit something: You've invaded my everyday thoughts. My grades have fallen, I find myself unable to concentrate on my studies, my magic misfires on a daily basis, and the memory of your touch — especially that wondrous, impossible moment — gnaws at me in my sleep. The time we've spent together, though far too fleeting, was always precious to me. But now that you've declared the strength of your intentions, it has now been given a new meaning. While I would be remiss to deny how my heart fluttered ever since you saved me from my tormentors, I did not know you felt the same way."
You could tell she'd rehearsed this little speech, though that didn't take away the emotion behind it. You could sense that she was speaking from the heart.
