Even if one accepts the figures presented, at most this would suggest the numbers might be lower than previously estimated — but it in no way disproves that the atrocities occurred.

The doors were not designed to protect guards standing outside from exposure. The implication that containment failure would somehow invalidate the use is misguided.

One might recall Stephan Balliet’s failed attempt to breach a wooden door with firearms — reality doesn’t always conform to assumptions.

Yet, to the best of my knowledge, not a single guard has ever publicly recanted his testimony, even decades later. Curious, isn't it?

Yes, some stories — such as those — were indeed false or exaggerated wartime propaganda. However, the existence of a few falsehoods does not negate the overwhelming body of verified evidence.
