Why are males so sterile?

I'm not talking about sterile as in literally sterile, but like every male I talk to is either depressed or so unenthusiastic. Most of the people I talk to are depressed and actively showing it, or they are depressed and actively hiding it. And then males wonder why no females want to be with them? Well a cat wouldn't want to be with you either, let alone a real life female.
