No, you get similar power concentrations under communism, just under party structures instead of corporate structures. Best thing for the US would be to make campaign donations only permitted by those who are eligible to vote in the election for which the donation is aimed. Getting rid of universal suffrage is an advanced goal, but simply getting big money out of elections would do wonders for policy as politicians would no longer have campaign interests in catering to trillion dollar companies.
