You can now set a "personality type" in the character creator. This controls what emotes your character uses in cutscenes and a handful of dialogue changes. For example, "Tough" replaces most instances of a surprised expression with an enduring or angry one, the victory stance with /determined, and you don't cry. "Tired" make you grumpy and dismissive usually and defer to emotes with less wild expression, and "Spirited" would make you a loudmouth. There is also "Silent" where you literally do not speak or make expressions at all, save for the eyebrows.
