lol, i'm running a 1070 8gb myself. No problems with genning at all. Only complaints I have is that it could be faster, and I can't really multitask since it's eating all my VRAM.

I have a brand new 3060ti I never installed because it was too big for my case. I'm considering building a 2nd PC out of spare parts, just to run gens on the side
