"What did you want to tell me?" He asks.

"You know how I have Yumi as a spirit, right?"

"Ah, let me guess," He cleared his throat, "Aneko is a ghost, and she wants to do something before she goes to the other side, no?"

"Although Aneko did become a ghost, it was only for a minute or so before she ascended." You paused as you remembered that white tulip you and Ayane got from that event. Unlike the other flowers it was completely natural, though as an item for a timed event it felt underwhelming. "But it's actually pretty close to the truth. You know how I asked if Sumiko liked flowers?"

"It was Sumiko that was a spirit, then." Hisashi concluded with practiced calmness.

"Yeah, pretty much. And she said she was going to visit you and talk about a few things."

"Did she say what she wanted to speak of?"

"No. But I'm guessing it's about Ayane, considering they had a bit of a heart to heart."

"I see." He frowned. "I must apologize for her behavior. She can be... a bit much for the average person. It's good to hear she decided to stay on this planet for a while."

"You don't seem too surprised about it." You noted.

"Maintaining a calm and composed mind is the best tool for any merchant, especially when tragedy strikes." You vaguely recall Ayane saying something like that. "It also helped to assume that a spirit was helping me. It certainly explained a few things, such as how I survived for so long despite my Bad Luck."

"Did you know it was Sumiko herself giving you a hand?"

"I had my suspicions, but a part of me felt she was still watching over me." He sighed.

"What was she like?" You asked.

"Well," He smiled. "She had a very strong personality; arrogant, rude, controlling, aggressive." He chuckled. "Though she had her prejudices, there was a sweet side she always showed to me. Despite how much she could be, I knew that under it all she could be a beautiful person. To this day I still love her, and I'll give her all the time she needs to talk."

A few moments of silence were shared. You watched Bertha fumble some of the salt she was given, accidentally throwing some at another guest.

"I think that's my cue to go back." You said to an amused Hisashi, giving him a quick goodbye and getting back to your wives before the chaos your wives were threatening to start began to spread.

You continued to stare at the city with Herta, the sunrise blanketing over it as everything hummed with life.

"Sunsets are beautiful, right Master?" Bertha said as she woke up, joining you and Bertha on the balcony.

"Yeah, they are." You replied, not bothering to correct her.

"You mean 'sunrise', no?" Ruby did that for you as she stifled a yawn of her own.

"Same difference, Rubes." Bertha dissmissed.

"No, not at all," Ruby continued, "In a sunrise, as the name suggests-"

"Oi, guv, today's the day those Centrian Knight blokes give us freebies, innit?" Cattleya also decided to join you.
