bunch of ways to solve these, spam mortars, leap frog walls, use smoke launchers to get close, emp grenades, target power cells for free booms, call in traders or npcs to help, ect. it really depends on if you are early/mid/late and what you have available. a good order of operations would be drag away or kill any active mechs, kill turrets, kill spawners, clean up rest. unless you are geared out the ass, dont expect to fight a cluster and come out without any injuries.

yep you solved it, test everyone. now if you kept a good eye on your people you should have an idea of who was near the possible infection so that would be a good place to start.

no idea without seeing your base what is going on. i always recommend you make way more power then you need, by the time you produce so much that zzts become deadly is also the same time you should have all underground cables and reliable battery backups and storage
