Gqux feels cold and inhuman beneath the pretty audiovisuals and colorful characters because of that. There's barely been any genuine human moments outside of Anno's scenes, which had a bit of fat to them. For instance, had Enokido been writing Challia and Char's convo, he'd have jumped right to Char implying they should take on the Zabis, with all the character building carried by implications in the background. There wouldn't be the conversation beforehand where the two were talking around each other and trying to feel each other out, the slower stuff that makes characters feel they're humans.
