Not that anon, but you don't seem like a total midwit so I'll say this: what passes as science these days is most definitely used as propaganda. There is no reason to throw out the baby with the bathwater (insomuch as scientific method and empiricism is the best tool we have to make any material progress in the world) but you absolutely have to realize that much of science today is complete junk. Its also something completely different for a person with a good education (i.e, someone who has learned how to learn, how to think, and how to reason, not something most people actually learn in school) and someone with no real critical thinking skills (no, its not fact checking something on Snopes or looking to see what the Science Man said on the topic) to use their gut or intuition to navigate the world.
