I have aphantasia and a severely hindered sense of distance, proportion and space.
I once took an important drawing final exam for extra credit. I performed as well as the drawfags who had gone to cram school by using maths. This taught me to use alternative methods to cope with my shortcomings.
Later I befriended a drawfag/modelfag who was working in the gaming industry. He taught me that the process doesn't matter as long as the end result is good.
But after that I realized that modern games run like ass because they are poorly optimized because of this mindset.
And also I occassionaly see drawfags saying that people are bad at drawing because they skipped steps in the learning process, giving me the impression that there is a right and a wrong way to draw.
My shortcomings make practicing even primitives very difficult. I am thinking of using screencaps of primitives in Blender to make up for it. But will this hurt my art because I will be skipping learning a step? Will it be cheating? And if it is then why shouldn't I cheat since I'm working with a handicap?
Idk, I guess I'm autistic and I'm chasing my tail in my head.
