Why did Paganism become popular again after being culturally irrelevant for centuries? Was it the gay Thor movies where his main love interest is a Jewish woman? Believing in Odin and Thor is no different than believing in Zeus and Hercules or Jehovah and Jesus. Since most religions are based on patriarchy, there is a recurring theme of father and son, a patriarch and his successor. Paganism doesn't make you different or special. In fact it was Jews who reinvented Norse mythology with comic books and Hollywood fantasy films. The only way to be a true Viking is to move to the geographical location and learn the original language. A lot of Neo-Pagans are just disgruntled white people romanticizing a primitive culture because it didn't have brown people in it. It's been a while since I read the Bible but I don't remember "you shall let illegals into the land" being a commandment. If America was Pagan the government would find a way to weaponize it against you anyway.
