Does anyone have a good recommendation for an "open-fly" or "half-fly"-style tent like this one?
I've been using the Sierra Designs Sirius 2 for a long time, and while it's billed as a three-season tent, I've had no problems with it in winter. The fly design's been great in the rain, too, with no moisture issues whatsoever. I moved to a new country recently, and I could only bring so much in my suitcases, which didn't include all my old camping gear. As such, I'm in the market for a new tent. I'd buy another one of these because I like it so much, but the company's discontinued the design.
The open fly design is great for ventilation, and I don't think I can go back to having a stuffy rain fly with full coverage all the time. Everything I can find on the market looks like it's either meshless, or fully mesh with a full-coverage fly (like the Meteor from the same company). Are there any small, 2-person-ish tents out there which either have a partial fly like this one, or if they have a full fly, have it designed so that you can roll it up partway and still not worry about rain falling through the mesh?
