Just gave CachyOS and a few other distros a try for about 2-3 weeks each. I'm back on Windows. There's a lot of cool stuff about Linux, but once I realized how much time I was spending "fighting" the OS or tinkering so that I could do basic things was when I realized it wasn't worth it for me. As someone who doesn't code at all, my biggest issues were the dogshit font rendering (which apparently can never be truly fixed), software incompatibility (various games and programs like MS office or photoshop), and the constant jank I had to deal with (ex: reading the wiki and a million forum posts to figure out why the fuck chromium apps didn't maximize properly or how to automatically mount other SSDs on boot). Never again.
