This might sound stupid but I used to think that some fantasy races, probably because of certain depictions of them through media featuring them, were much bigger and were much taller than humans or even half giant or regular giant sized. This mainly applied to Dwarves and Goblins but I also realized it didn't matter what's considered right because they're made up concepts anyways so there's no true canon to any of it, so I always think in my mind they're pretty big.
