On Thurs. May 15 I was with a group of random people escorting a duck and her 10 ducklings to safety in Old Montreal.
She was found by Square-Victoria metro (We have no idea how they got there), and we herded them down McGill street to the canal by the river, blocking traffic on the way.
At that point we were glad to get them to water where they were safer and could swim around. Then we realized the canal had locks on either side and the ducklings were trapped there until the locks opened. We rigged a plank in the water where they could rest and stay dry.
One of the girls called me this morning and said she was there and saw them resting on the plank.
I went back later today but there was no sign of them. I hope they made it out of that area.
Pic is the only video I could find of the night. A bunch of people were filming, but I don't have a cellphone. I'm trying to search for video uploads but have come up empty.
I don't do social media, so this is just for a record of the event.
