You and the people who did these kinds of adaptations never seem to realize that there's a middle ground between a panel to panel adaptation and some bullshit that barely resembles the original. People dislike when adaptations attempt to do something different and fail at it, while a lot of other people think different = good. The fact is that the people doing the adaptations just don't understand the source material as well as the person who actually made it, which is why original content usually falls flat on its face and generally stands out compared to the material actually well adapted.

Even this season you have City, which is pretty good in general but has content shuffling for seemingly no reason, or the reason is the lack of episodes and the studio wanting to rush to the "good stuff". 99% of the time this shit just reeks of animation studio employees wanting to justify their existence by putting their own personal mark on an adaptation even if it sucks and is retarded. That and as a manga reader, all these close adaptations you and others complain about generally have a ton of issues too. Maybe it's because studios think people want dry, panel for panel adaptations, but people would be willing to accept interesting or original content if it was good. But that's rarely the case for the reasons I outlined above. And due to that it alienates both manga fans and people who want adaptations to take advantage of the medium. I also fully believe that anime is incredibly standardized, both in animator skillsets and format of anime cours and seasons, which is part of the problem as well.
