Acktchyually elves are built to withstand very high temperatures. Their ears have enormous surface-to-volume ratios, making them nature's perfect heat radiators. Compare them to desert animals that have similar ginormous ears. Except elven ears are even better at radiating heat because they're naked. Staying warm is a much greater issue for them, which is why they're always gravitating towards a big human man's embrace.
