Pic related was the straw that broke the camel's back. Paul kept trying to force his lifestyle and mannerisms onto Dylan instead of trying to understand the kid which is why Dylan kept rejecting Paul. Clearly, MJ wasn't ok with how Paul acted towards Dylan.
