Reminder that there is somewhere aside from the outskirts and the ruins ''outside'' the city, somewhere where the ''stars'' reside.
I think it's highly likely that this is where the nebulae and the blueniggers actually are, they arrived at this place by reaching the understanding and project themselves into the city when they want to, explaining why they can always appear out of thin air.
