I wish I could have been there to see it. Similar things can be said about many boards on this site. It's tragic. There's no helping it. I realized when 4chan got hacked that it basically became something of an eggregore, memes preceed thought, rather than thought being generative and creative, and so it's sort of an inversion of culture.
That's not to say there's nothing good here but it's developed into a machine of sorts, and it perpetuates itself.
