You'd piloted the BoatMech back with her on it, scaring away the smarter monsters and easily crushing the braver ones. Thankfully Mel and the clankers hadn't gone too far up the mountain; you didn't want to find out how the BoatMech would fare climbing up a mountain. Although in theory it should be possible, considering it had hands and feet.

"Master." Mel said. "Thank you so much for saving me!"

"Don't worry about it." You replied.

"And, um, sorry about needing your help. Again. Hahaha..." She sheepishly scratched the back of her head. "I've been doing pretty good staying safe until today."

"Hey, we've been over this. I said you could rely on me, didn't I?" You reassured her, getting a beaming smile from the beguiler.

You saw those two clankers tailing behind your mech's footsteps. While you considered putting them in on the deck, there was too much clutter from all the modules there to fit them.

"So," You wanted to ask how those clankers did in mountainous terrain, "Mel, did you-"

"Um, I'm not planning to make any special gifts for you! Yeah, definitely!" Mel quickly said, looking like she wanted to facepalm immediately after.

"-notice what the clankers were fighting?" You finished.

"Oh." Mel blinked. "A bunch of rock golems, rock wolves, mountain slimes, giant wyrms, owlbears, and some goats."

"Some goats?"

"Yeah. There's goat herds over there. They were also pretty common in the path me and the girls first took when coming over here." She paused for a second. "You know, I thank the gods for letting them live there, cause goats were pretty much the only consistent source of food for us to eat when Forthwythe sent us to go over the mountains."

That made you consider the applications that goats could have. You even entertained the idea of domesticating them, despite not knowing the first thing about goat keeping. Maybe Bertha could help in that regard? She lived in a farm, surely she'd know.
Well you were sure that one of your stronger wives would be able to get a few from the mountains.

The week ended with you loving Herta so much that she couldn't feel her legs for days.
