It doesn't have to be THAT big but there's still a lot you can do with the restaurant as a base. You ever watch Cheers? A lot of episodes had the bar get in competition with a rival bar, Gary's Olde Towne Tavern where the loser would suffer some embarrassment. Have episodes were Bob tries to drum up business. Have them do anything.

The worst part though is that there's really no character to anything. You watch Simpsons and there's a personality to everyone and everything. even the one note denizens of Springfield will get some decent use to establish their shtick, and while it was just shtick it was memorable. Who are the memorable characters in this show? Teddy? Okay. but Mort fell off pretty fast. There's a mailman that goes to waste. Maybe once a few seasons Marshmallow will make a cameo. Hell there will be instances where characters who haven't appeared in seasons suddenly get thrust to the spot light and I have no idea who they even are. I'm not saying every episode needs someone to come in and do a little Disco Stu but also maybe? You have a setting where any number of characters can just walk in unprompted and they waste it.
