Mark my words, Oda is building up towards something with Shiki. He's the only Rocks Pirate member we don't know the fate of yet, besides some of the unnamed background members. He's also now been revealed to be one of the original crewmembers. Shiki appeared in Chapter 0 and was beginning his long game plan, whatever that is. Shiki was the one who sucked up Bege and his crew into his airship, and convinced him to try to assassinate Big Mom.
