You have to jump at the last second and basically it's just like jumping down a small flight of stairs. I've done it 3 times, it's just after that you do still have to get out of the flaming wreckage. This is where most people fuck up and die, but I plan my exit as soon as I get on the plane so it's not a problem for me.
