There have been several thousand Ukrainians that resisted conscription, with nearly a thousand desertions.
Meanwhile Russia has a much more severe problem. Svyatoslav Golikov, the author of the 'Philologist in Ambush' Telegram channel, says 60,000 Russian soldiers have deserted since 2022. 20,538 documented cases of Russian soldiers prosecuted for refusing to fight in Ukraine. Out of a million lost so far, that's 8 percent of the entire fighting force and probably thousands more unreported.
