Never feel this way about gacha/live service games. I just dropped ZZZ after spending a couple hundred since launch on the 1.X patches. Zero regrets, had a great time, just realized one day I started ONLY enjoying the combat and that was only a fraction of the games. (Gimmick events, Dialogue, cutscenes, dailies, etc. we taking hours every week and weren't for me) Also wasn't a fan of the direction the game shifted, and I knew going in that's always a possibility. Most online games get ruined by updates eventually.
I will GLADLY do the same for Nikki if they don't get their shit together by 2.0. Especially if they expand my dailies again or drop another 1.5-esque patch. If I throw any money at these games I see it as a short lived treat akin to eating out, not an investment. Plus my shit will still be there till the servers shut down if I come back.
