This is why hedonism is wrong. What do you see in this? Piles and piles of bodies, mere flesh and bone, nothing else. They don't even appear as human beings anymore, just an amalgamation of skin against skin. This is what happens when you see sex as the goal, rather than the means to experiencing something more; sex loses all its meaning and emotional weight, and so to compensate you pursue stronger and stronger raw physical pleasure. You grow more and more numb, and it takes more and more extreme means to achieve the goal of sexual pleasure. But it was never meant to be this way. Sex must be the means to achieve the end of love; the greater the meaning and emotional weight of sex, the more sensitive you are to the pleasure of sex. An otherwise meaningless touch becomes an ecstatic caress when given from someone who means the world to you. Sex ought to be sacred, not because of some religion that arbitrarily tells you so, but because holy sex is the best and only kind of sex that is worth experiencing.
