The Faroese would be granted statehood if their population grew *massively* or if they wanted to join another state, but most likely they would be granted a very good territorial status. They'd have citizenship, autonomy, exemption from most taxes & federal laws, etc. but would not have the ability to vote in federal elections due to their population being insufficient for a single House seat.
