Here's what I'm using but it it might be more active skill than you since I've been using some prowler mods for years now
For active skills you alwyas want go fight win + a healing skill like soothing roll or emergency escape
Claw dance is something you use on knockdowns and furbidden accorn you lose 1 live but you get gauge instantly so useful for farming stuff or playing low stress hunts

For passive Extended Beast is a must, Artful Dodger makes your R1 backflip iframes super long but otherwise you stack crit

I believe the way you want to roll your palico is getting the right BBCCC (for example) patterns for skills when recruiting it then you can simply rereroll all the other skills or teach them from other palicos. It's not super long. Or use the save editor if you're lazy.
