It was a successful proof of concept game that made Nintendo shit its pants. And that's all it needed to do, not for its own but for the industry at large, and the ongoing lawsuit is also the biggest and only positive contribution to the industry.
Palworld (the game) in reality is a mess, a cobbled together mash of ideas taken from other games that do work loosely to make a somewhat fun theme park open world game, but with very little dept, gather things to make more of same thing and increase numbers, even after you beat all the towers now you have to do it all over again with bigger numbers in your favor, if you like grinding sure, it can be fun, but if you don't better look elsewhere.
