The default state of the universe is change. You're the dumb one for thinking you can keep everything the same for forever. Change is what we adapt to. If there is no change there is no adaptation. If there is no adaptation the species stagnates and dies as you are seeing currently with declining birth rates. People don't feel a reason to reproduce in a stagnant world.
