If your diapers aren't actual bottom-of-the-barrel garbage, you should be able to remove and reapply the tapes without destroying it, so you don't need to stress too much. But if you go for baby powder and get any of that on the tapes, yeah it's ruined.
I don't have anything saved, but there isn't any crazy magic to it. Some people might do it in slightly different ways, but it's basically just top tapes then bottom tapes, and checking at a few points that it's positioned correctly and is taut.

You'll probably do a pretty lousy job with your first one and maybe even put it on backwards.
