Street Fighter characters took so long to return because Capcom works at the speed of snail and they wanted a more favorable deal and more leverage in any future crossover projects. I think the current state of international trade with U.S. companies has Capcom rushing to rekindle old "friendships" but that is just my opinion, not anything I've sat in on. I also believe Disney's open collaboration with Epic Games made them more appealing to work with again. Epic Games pivoting to a certain other, cheaper fighting game franchise did not meet expectations. Expect more Capcom stuff either way. Proposals exist for Juri Han, M. Bison, Akuma and Frank West.
